Sacred Heart College
Sometimes a brief crosses your desk that you just need to do.
We loved the local aspect of the ask, and wanted to give back to the community with a considered approach and a vision for the future.
The Client
Sacred Heart College is a Secondary School in Omagh, County Tyrone, which was formed following the amalgamation of an all girls school and an all boys school in 199?.
Initially, we were approached by a uniform provider to create a crest for the new uniform. We instantly thought ahead, knowing that this device would need to be used in the future for more than just the uniform. Thinking ahead is a critical part of what we do.
The Challenge
Crests are not the most flexible of identities – they can be large, multi-coloured, detailed and cumbersome. The wishlist is usually long and every part of the story needs to be included. We always try and think further down the line, considering who might need to use this device again and for what possible purpose. Thankfully we did, as a decade later we were asked to create a suite of promotional assets for the school and our crest stood up to the challenge.
Some projects get you seen everywhere; some are much more local, but this doesn’t mean they mean less. Sometimes, these are the briefs that mean the most.
The Result
By paying attention to the bigger picture, we were able to create all of the components needed for success – a strong colour palette, meaningful words and engaging images. Then we got the balance right in terms of how we used these elements to create standout. The photography really captures the child-centred values of the school, while the bold statements reflect the clear policy of the school that every child deserves the best education possible. Through thoughtful selection of school colours, we created a really positive vibe across all materials.
